Kadachira Valiyamuttam temple is located at Kadachira in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Manathana Pothi and numerous other deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 14 to Makaram 15 (January 28 to Jan 29).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kadachira Valiyamuttam temple are Angakkaran theyyam, Manathana Pothi, Sasthappan theyyam, Veeran theyyam, Karimkali theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Elladathu Bhagavathy theyyam, Bappooran theyyam, Karimkutti Sasthappan theyyam and Karanavar theyyam.
This is a small beautiful Kerala style temple with
traditional architecture. There is a chathura sreekovil for the main deity.
There are also small sreekovils and square platforms for worshipping subsidiary
deities. Some deities are worshipped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam
month is of great importance here.
