Purakkatt Vettakkorumakan temple is located at Purakkattu on the Morazha – Kannapuram road in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vettakkorumakan. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Vrischika Masam (November third week).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Purakkatt Vettakkorumakan temple are Thai Paradevatha theyyam, Thekkan Kariyathan theyyam, Vettakkorumakan theyyam and Oorpazhassi theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the
main deity. The roof of the shrine is traditionally decorated. Sankranti in a
Malayalam month is of great importance. A small pond is part of the shrine.
