According to the teachings of Madhvacharya, Lord Vishnu (Hari) is the Supreme Being and resides in Vaikunta with his consort Shri Lakshmi. The world we see is real and the difference is true. Vishnu is the only independent reality. All living and non living beings are dependent on Vishnu. Souls and world are dependent on Vishnu and is separate from Vishnu. Bhakti is the only means of attaining Moksha.
Sri Madhwa Jayanti is observed annually on the Vijayadasami or Dasara day - 10th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Ashwin Month.
The knowledge today we have of Madhvacharya’s life (1238 –
1317 AD) is based on Madhavijaya of Narayana Pandita.
Madhvacharya is believed to be Mukhyaprana of Srihari
Vishnu. As Vishnu would not take another incarnation before total annihilation of
the universe in Kali Yuga, his Mukhyaprana, first of his emanations identified
with his creative force Hiranyagarbha, undertook the work of spreading
devotion. Mukhyaprana is identified with Vayu. In earlier yugas, it was born as
Hanuman and Bhimasena. Madhvacharya is believed to the Mukhyaprana manifestation
of Srihari Vishnu.
