The Mailara Mallanna (Khandoba) Temple is located in Khanapur village of Bhalki taluk, Bidar district, Karnataka. It is revered as Dakshina Kashi (Southern Kashi) due to its immense spiritual power and historical significance. The shrine is dedicated to Khandoba form of Shiva.
Divine Legend:

In ancient times, two demon brothers, Mallasura and Manikasura, terrorized sages, innocents, and all living beings on Earth.

To restore cosmic order, Lord Shiva incarnated as Martanda Bhairava, mounted on a horse, wielding a sword.

He was accompanied by the divine mother Mahamari (Ghritamari) and Sapta Koti Devaganas (70 million divine warriors).

The demons were destroyed on the holy day of Champashashti, during the month of Margashira.

After this victory, peace was restored on Earth.

A grand annual fair (Jatre) is held from Chatti Amavasya to Ellu Amavasya (approximately one month).
