Chalad Chalil Bhagavathy Kavu temple is located at Chalad – Palliyamoola in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for four days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 1 to 4 (February 13 to February 16).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Chalad Chalil Bhagavathy Kavu temple are Chalil Bhagavathy theyyam, Ilamkolam theyyam, Kudiveeran theyyam, Gulikan theyyam and Bhadrakali theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil for the main deities. The
roof and walls of the shrine is traditionally decorated. Some deities are
worshipped atop square platform and under trees. There are other smaller sreekovils.
Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of great importance in the temple.
