Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Temple Bandi Sheshamma in Bengaluru is an ancient temple dedicated to Hanuman.
Bandi Sheshamma Hanuman Temple History
Mrs. Bandisheshamma lived in this place about 300 years ago.
She was unmarried. In the open space within the chhatra (rest house), village
farmers used to bring the crops they had grown in bullock carts, stay
overnight, and carry out trade. Because of this practice, the place came to be
known by the name “Mrs. Bandisheshamma.”
Within the chhatra premises established by Mrs. Bandisheshamma, there are facilities including the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple, a student hostel, shops, and other buildings. In front of the chhatra, 10 shops have been constructed. The rental income from these shops is used for the maintenance of the chhatra.
The student hostel consists of a total of 22 rooms,
providing residential accommodation for 45 poor students from rural areas.
