Anjoottambalam Veerar Kavu temple is located at Nileshwar Theru in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavathi, Chamundi and other deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 11 and Thulam 12 (October 28 to October 29).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Anjoottambalam Veerar Kavu temple are Chooliyar Bhagavathy theyyam, Moovalamkuzhi Chamundi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam and Padarkulangara Bhagavathi theyyam.
This is a small beautiful Kerala style temple with
traditional architecture. There is a chathura sreekovil for the main deity.
There are also small sreekovils and square platforms for worshipping subsidiary
deities. Some deities are worshipped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam
month is of great importance here.
