Pallikkara Kuruvattu Chodachan Madam Vettakkorumakan temple is located at Pallikkara near Nileshwar in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vettakkorumakan and other deities worshipped in kavu and tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 1 to Vrischikam 3 (November 17 to November 19).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Pallikkara Kuruvattu Chodachan Madam Vettakkorumakan temple are Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Puliyoor Kali theyyam, Pulikandan theyyam, Oorpazhassi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Ankakkulangara Bhagavathy theyyam, Raktha Chamundi theyyam and Vettakkorumakan theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil (square sanctum
sanctorum) for the main deity. Some deities are worshipped atop small square
platforms and under trees. The temple performs special pujas and rituals on
Sankranti day.
