Mathamangalam Pothira Valappu Tharavadu Devasthanam temple is located at Mathamangalam in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Chamundi, Kurathi, Vishnumoorthi and other popular deities worshipped in kavu and tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for four days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 14 to Vrischikam 15 (November 29 to Nov 30).

Pothira Valappu Tharavadu Devasthanam temple are Kundor Chamundi theyyam, Kurathi
theyyam, Monthi Kolam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil (square sanctum
sanctorum) for the main deity. The walls and roof of the shrine are decorated with
traditional motifs. There are other smaller sanctums for other deities. Some
deities are worshipped atop small square platforms and under trees. The temple
performs special pujas and rituals on Sankranti day. This is a family maintained private temple.
