Kurumathur Pullivettakkorumakan temple is located at Kurumathur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavathy, Pulli Vettakkorumakan and numerous other deities that are commonly worshipped in kavu and tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 9 to Vrischikam 11 (November 24 to November 26).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kurumathur Pulli Vettakkorumakan temple are Kutti theyyam, Velutha Bhootham, Gulikan Vettakkorumakan, Valiya Bhagavathy and Pullivettakkorumakan theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil (small square sanctum
sanctorum) for the main deity. The roof of the sreekovil is decorated with
traditional motifs. Some deities are worshipped atop small square platforms and
under trees. There are other smaller sreekovils. The temple performs special
pujas and rituals on Sankranti day. The shrine has been renovated and has a
modern look. This is a family maintained private temple.
