Poonhen Tharavadu Sree Thondachan Devasthanam temple is located at Thaliyil in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Thondachan and other related deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 11 to Makaram 12 (January 25 to Jan 26).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Poonhen Tharavadu Sree Thondachan Devasthanam temple are Elladath Bhagavathy theyyam, Kandanar Kelan theyyam, Kudiveeran theyyam, Thekkan Gulikan theyyam and Vayanattu Kulavan.
The temple has chathura sreekovil (square sanctum sanctorum)
for the main deities. The other deities are worshipped atop small square
platforms, under trees and in smaller sreekovils.
