Kottila Kandambath Thai Paradevatha Temple – Theyyam Kaliyattam Thira Festival

Kottila Kandambath Thai Paradevatha temple is located at Kottila in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Thai Paradevatha. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 19 and Makaram 20 (February 5 and February 6).

The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kottila Kandambath Thaiparadevatha temple are Vayanattu Kulavan theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam and Thai Paradevatha theyyam.

The main deity is worshipped in a small chathura sreekovil. Other deities are worshiped atop small square platforms and under trees. Important pujas and rituals are performed on Sankranti day in every Malayalam month.
