Nidumchal Karimanal Chamundi temple is located at Nidumchal near Padiyottuchal in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Chamundi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 9 and Kumbham 10 (February 21 and Feb 22).
The main deity is worshipped in a Chathura sreekovil – square
sanctum sanctorum. Its roofs and walls are traditionally decorated. There are
other smaller sreekovils and square platforms for other deities. Some deities
are given a place under trees. Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti
in every Malayala Masam is of great significance.
