Peravoor Karoth Tharavadu Palliyara Bhagavathy Devasthanam Temple – Kaliyattam – Theyyam Festival

Peravoor Karoth Tharavadu Palliyara Bhagavathy Devasthanam temple is located at Peravoor in Kannur district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual theyyam kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meena Masam (March 23 to March 25) – Meenam 9 to Meenam 11.

This is a small privately owned and managed temple. The main sanctum is a small sreekovil. There are other sreekovil and raised platforms for subsidiary deities. Some deities are worshiped under trees. Vishu and Sankranti are important days in the temples.

The main theyyams performed at Peravoor Karoth Tharavadu Palliyara Bhagavathy Devasthanam temple are Gulikan theyyam, Karanavar theyyam, Kudiveeran theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.

Sandhya Vela is performed on the evening of March 24. The main theyyams are performed from midnight on March 24 to early morning hours on March 25.
