Chirakkal Kanhirathara Puzhathi Sree Pazhayaparambathu Puthiya Bhagavathy Temple – Kaliyattam Theyyam Festival

Chirakkal Kanhirathara Puzhathi Sree Pazhayaparambathu Puthiya Bhagavathi Temple is located at Puzhathi near Chirakkal in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to various deities that are worshipped in Kavu in North Kerala. This particular shrine has Goddess Puthiya Bhagavathy as the main deity. The temple consists of a Chatura sreekovil, other similar smaller shrines, and square platforms. The annual theyyam kaliyattam thira festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meda Masam (April 16 to 18) – Medam 3 to Medam 5.

The important theyyams that are performed in the shrine are Bhairavan theyyam kolam, Puthiya Bhagavathy theyyam vellarattam, Pookutti Sasthappan theyyam, Thekkan Gulikan, Veeran theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam and Uchitta Theyyam.
