Padarkulangara Bhagavathy Theyyam – Story – Information

Padarkulangara Bhagavathy theyyam is a powerful Mother Goddess Shakti theyyam and is part of the annual Kaliyattam thira theyyam festival in Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information, this is a ferocious form of Goddess Devi Bhagavathy. As per Padar Kulangara Bhagavathy theyyam story, she is the daughter of Shiva. Once a hunting party led by one Nair got lost and they were unable to find way back to their home. Finally, they happened to witness a lamp at Padarkulangara. They realized the lamp was none other than Goddess Bhagavathi.

The theyyam has a huge thirumudi (headgear). The theyyam is worshipped to overcome problems in life including health issues.

This is a very popular theyyam and is part of the Kaliyattam festival in many temples.
