Velangeri Edathil Bhagavathi temple is located at Pattanur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual kaliyattam – theyyam festival in the temple is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 6 and Makaram 7 (January 20 to January 21).
Puja is held on the Sankranthi day as per Malayalam calendar. The main shrine is with a small decorated chathura sreekovil. The other deities are worshipped on square platforms and also in small sreekovils. Vishu is an important festival in the temple.
The important theyyams performed in the
temple are Puthiya Bhagavathy theyyam and Rakta Chamundi theyyam.
