Pazhambalacode Narayana Murthy Temple – History – Festival

Pazhambalacode Narayana Murthy temple, also known as Krishna kovil, is located at Pazhambalakode in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Vishnu. Every year on the last Saturday of the Malayalam Kanni masam (September – October), Bhajanam festival is celebrated in this temple in a grand manner.

As per history, the temple was built by the Mudaliar community who migrated to the region from Tamil Nadu. There are more than thirty Mudaliar villages in Palakkad district. Mudaliar community of Pazhambalacode are the only Vaishnavites others are Shaivites.

This is a typical Tamil style with a decorative gopuram. The temple has a kodimaram and sreekovil.

The annual festival is famous for panchavadyam, caparisoned elephants and other traditional temple art forms.
