Mavelikara Valiya Kottaram Guruvayoorappan temple is located in the heart of Mavelikara town in Alappuzha district, Kerala. It is an ancient shrine dedicated to Guruvayoorappan form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna and belongs to the royal family. The shrine is located behind the famous Mavelikara Sree Krishna temple. The annual Ashtami Rohini, the birthday of Bhagavan Sri Krishna, is of great importance in the temple. Vaishnava pujas and rituals are held on the day.
There are no major structures here except for the sanctum sanctorum. The murti of Sri Krishna worshipped in the temple is similar to the one worshipped in the famous Guruvayur Temple, in Thrissur.
Two pujas are held daily in the shrine.
