Ezhupunna Narayanapuram Mahavishnu Temple

Ezhupunna Narayanapuram Mahavishnu temple is located at Ezhupunna in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu. The temple observes with annual Ashtami Rohini festival in Malayalam Chingamasam (August – September) with much fanfare.

This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a chathura sreekovil facing east. The shrine has a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam, kodimaram and temple pond.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for Vaishnava pujas and rituals including abhishekam, homa, various sahasranama archana and pallivetta. The festival which begins with ceremonial flag hoisting ends with arattu procession. Kerala traditional performing art forms, music, caparisoned elephants and meal are part of the festival.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami is noted for pujas, procession, uriyadi, feast and dressing up of young children as Sri Krishna.

Vishu, Ramayana Masam, Thiruvonam and Thrikarthika are other festivals in the temple. Ekadashi day every fortnight is importance in the shrine.
