Poochakkal Varekadu Kurumba Bhagavathi temple is located on the Cherthala Arookutty road in Poochakkal, Alappuzha district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual festival in the temple is held on Kumbha Bharani day (February – March).
This is a beautiful Kerala style temple with a pond in front of the shrine. The temple has a chathura sreekovil, kodimaram, nalambalam, namaskara mandapam, upa devata shrines and a shrine outside the main temple facing the opposite direction.
The temple is famous for the annual festival especially for the rare pujas and rituals. Shrine is decorated beautifully with lamps and lights on the occasion. Ezhunellipu, temple art forms and procession are part of the festival.
Thrikarthika and Navratri are the other important occasions in the temple.
