Neduvathoor Chirakadavu Devi Temple – Festival

Neduvathoor Chirakadavu Devi temple is located at Neduvathoor near Kottarakkara in Kollam district, Kerala. This an ancient Bhagavathy or Devi shrine. Kumbha Bharani festival which falls in February or March is an important occasion in the temple.

This is a small temple with a chathura sreekovil, kodimaram or flag pole and a beautiful temple pond. The temple sreekovil is covered with gold plating.  

The temple observes the annual Pongala ritual.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for the arrival of Kuthira – huge tall heavily decorated structures are pulled to the temple.
