Kottayam Chengalathu Kavu Devi Temple – Festival

Kottayam Chengalathu Kavu Devi temple is located at Chengalam near Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi or Devi. The annual festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meena Masam (March – April).

This is typical Kerala style temple with a nalambalam, shrines of upa devatas and a chathura sreekovil.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for ezhunnallathu, caparisoned elephants, deepam and traditional performing art forms of Kerala.

The shrine observes various auspicious days associated with Bhagavathy including Navratri and Thrikarthika.
