Kechery Parappukkavu Devi Temple – Festival

Kechery Parappukkavu Devi temple is located at Parappukkavu – Kechery near Eranellur in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual pooram festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meena Masam (March – April).

This is a beautiful Kerala style traditional temple with a nalambalam, namaskara mandapam, kodimaram (flag pole) and shrines of upa devatas. The shrine has a chathura sreekovil.

Like many temples in Thrissur region, the shrine is famous for its pooram which includes Panchavadyam, pandimelam and caparisoned elephants. More than twenty elephants are part of the annual festival. The festival is also famous for its fireworks. Traditional performing art forms of Kerala and unique pujas and rituals are part of the annual festival.

Navratri and Thrikarthika festival are held in the temple.
