Vamanapuram Perunthra Bhagavathy Temple is located near Vamanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual festival in the temple begins with kodiyettam on Thiruvathira nakshatra day in Makaram month (January – February).
This is a beautiful small temple with a square sanctum sanctorum – chathura sreekovil, kodimaram (dhwaja or flag post), kall vilakkukal and chuttambalam.
Kerala temple art forms, procession, traditional dance, melam, kettukazhcha or floats and caparisoned elephants are part of the festival. Utsava bali, annadanam, ootu etc are part of the festival. The festival ends with Arattu.
The temple also observes Ramayana masam, Navratri and Thrikarthika festival.
