Mulankunnathukavu Ayyappa Temple – Festival

Mulankunnathukavu Ayyappa Temple, also known as Mulamkunnathukavu Dharmasastha Temple, is located at Mulagunnathukavu in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha. The 10-day annual festival in the temple begins on Uthiram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam.

The annual festival is more famous important pujas and rituals including utsava bali for five days.

This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a chathura sreekovil, nalambalam and temple pond. The main offering in the temple is Ayyappan theeyattu. Ganapathi homam is held for 12 day in Karkidaka Masam. Niramala is conducted on the first Saturday of Dhanu Masam.

The upa devata worshipped in the temple is Ganapati. Outside the main complex, there is the Thekkae Ambalam – Shiva, Vishnu and Bhagavati are worshipped here.

The sculptures around the Balikkalpura are famous.
