Maneed Nechoor Karakkudam Temple – Festival

Maneed Nechoor Karakkudam temple is located at Maneed near Nechoor in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Subrahmanya or Muruga. The annual Thaipooyam festival in Kumbha Masam is the most important festival in the shrine.

Some of the important events on the day include Kavadi abhishekam, Thalappoli, Kavadi Goshayatra (procession) and Bhasma Kavadi abhishekam. The thidambu of Muruga is carried atop a caparisoned elephant on the day to the accompaniment of melam.

This is a small temple dedicated to Subrahmanya. The chathura sreekovil has a standing murti of Muruga.

The temple observes Sashti Vritham day on all Malayalam months.

Skanda Sashti is another important festival here.
