Kayarampara Neelikavu temple, also known as Thiruvilayad, is located at Kayarampara – Palappuram near Ottapalam in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual Makara Chovva festival falling on the first Tuesday of Makaram month is of great importance in the temple.
The Makara Chovva festival is famous for melam and Velichappadu (oracle) traditional dance. The thidambu of Bhagavathy is taken atop a caparisoned elephant for procession to the accompaniment of temple drums and other instruments.
The temple observes various rituals and festivals associated with Bhagavathy temple including lakshadeepam, navratri and Thrikarthika.
