Vadanappally Chakkamadathil Pooshari Sri Subrahmanya Swami Temple

Vadanappally Chakkamadathil Pooshari Sri Subrahmanya Swami temple is located at Vadanappally in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muruga or Subrahmanya. The annual festival in the temple coincides with the Thaipoyam festival in Makram month (January – February).

The temple is a classic example of Kerala style temple architecture. The shrine has a square sanctum sanctorum or chatura sreekovil with the standing murti of Subrahmanya. Muruga is worshipped along with Valli and Devasena in the temple.

The Thaipooyam festival is famous for various types of kavadi including palkavadi. Shoolam kuthu and other Muruga temple rituals are held on the occasion.

The annual festival is famous for Kerala temple arts, music and display of traditional art forms like theyyam etc.

Sashti day falling during waxing phase of moon or after Amavasya is of great importance in the temple. Skanda Sashti in Thula month (October – November) is an important day for the temple.
