Parassery Sree Mookambika Bhagavathi Temple – Peringode - Festival

Parassery Sree Mookambika Bhagavathi temple is located at Peringode in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is on the Cherpulassery-Palakkad road. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mookambika (Goddess Saraswati).

The annual festival in the temple is held in Makaram month (January – February). The festival begins with Kodiyettam and the most important event is the Thalappoli on the seventh day of the festival. Thalappoli is held on the last Friday of January.  

The other important festivals in the temple are Prathishta Dinam on Makayiram nakshatra in Edavam month, Vidyarambham on the last day of Navratri known as Ezhuthiniruthal (Vijayadasami) and Karthika Vilakku maholsavam.

The shrine is famous Vidyarambham in the region.

The shrine has a square sanctum sanctorum and all the temple structures associated with a small Kerala temple. There is also a kodimaram or flag post in front of the temple.
