Manimalakkavu Devi Temple At Manimala – Kottayam - Kumbha Pooram Festival

Manimalakkavu Devi temple is located on the banks of Manimala River at Manimala in Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The shrine is famous for the annual Kumbha Pooram festival (February - March).

The annual festival in the temple is held on Pooram nakshatra day in Kumbham month. The festival is noted for temple art forms, music, procession, kalamezhuthu pattu and mudiyettu.

Aazhi Puja in the temple is held in Dhanu Masam. The Ambalapuzha team which performs petta thullal at Sabarimala shrine visits the temple and performs "aazhi pooja" here on their way to Sabarimala.

The subsidiary deities worshipped in the temple include Nagas, Ganapathy and Shiva. Special pujas are held on Ayilyam nakshatra in malayalam month.

The temple is managed by Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samiti.
