Elamgulam Sree Dharma Sastha Temple – Festival

Elamgulam Sree Dharma Sastha temple is located at Elamgulam in Kottayam district, Kerala. The annual six-day festival in the temple is held in Makaram month. The festival is famous for the participation of nearly a dozen caparisoned elephants.

The annual temple festival is famous for various rituals and pujas. Traditional temple art forms and temple music are given prominence during the festival. Pallivetta is held during the festival. The festival comes to conclusion with the arattu ceremony.

The temple is a classic example of Kerala style temple architecture and is complete with kodimaram or flagpost.

The subsidiary deities worshiped in the temple are Nagas and Vinayaka.

The temple was recently renovated especially the chuttambalam and the roof.
