Thonniyakavu temple is located near North Paravur on the Paravur – Chathanad road in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Chudala Bhadrakali. The prathishta in the temple is Kannadi Shila Pratishta.
The darshanam of Thonniyakavu Chudala Bhadrakali is towards west. There is a belief that Goddess Kali resides in the burial ground before the temple.
The Upa Devata worshipped in the temple is Ganapathi.
Mudiyettom in the temple is held on Kumbham 1. The festival is held from Kumbham 2 to Kumbham 7.
Legend has it that five goddesses worshipped in Kodungallur, Kottuvally, Trikkapuram, Kalikulangara and Thonniyakavu arrived from a distant place here. The place got Thonniyakavu as the goddess sat in the place she liked.
