Koodapuzha Sastha Temple Near Chalakudy

Koodapuzha Sastha temple is located at Kudapuzha near Chalakudy in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is one among the 108 Ayyappa temples in Kerala. It is believed that Makaram Pallikavu mentioned in Thottam Pattu is the Koodapuzha Sree Dharma Sastha temple.

The annual festival in the temple begins in Dhanu Masam (December - January). Kavadi Utsavam is major festival during the annual festival and a day is dedicated to it.

The form Shasta worshipped in the temple is Bala Sastha (Child form of Ayyappa). He holds Ratnakalasham and faces west. There is a big pond in front of the temple.

Sree Chakra is worshipped in the temple.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Shivan, Ganapathi, Durga and Bhadrakali.

It is believed that the murti worshipped in the temple was intended to be consecrated in the famous Arattupuzha temple. But due to some reason the vigraham was consecrated here.
