In Hinduism, Sanjivani Vidya Mantra, containing 56 Aksharas (syllables), is a blend of Gayatri Mantra and Shiva Mrityunjaya Mantra. This great mantra was used by many ancient rishis and rulers.

It is said that this mantra was meditated upon by Shukracharya first. 

Sage Vishwamitra, Sage Vasishta, Sage Parashara, Sage Atri, Sage Jamadagni, Shri Anjaneya were the other rishis who practiced this mantra.

It is also believed that Ravana of Ramayana used to chant this mantra daily.
