Kuzhuppilly Mahadeva Temple - About - Festival

Kuzhuppilly Mahadeva Temple is located at Kuzhuppilly on the Vypin – Munambam Road in Ernakulam district. The 8-day festival is observed in such a manner that it ends on the Thiruvathira nakshatra in Dhanu Masam. The temple is around 19 km from Kochi.

The festival is also known as Mulayittu Utsavam.

The main deity worshipped in the temple is Shiva. The deity faces west.

The Upa Devatas in the temple are Ganapathy, Sastha, Bhagavathy and Sri Krishna.

This was one of the important temples of the Kochi royal family.
