Kannankulangara Sree Krishna Temple About - Deities - Festival

Kannankulangara Sree Krishna temple is located at north Paravur in Kerala. The 10-day annual festival in the temple is observed in such a manner that the festival ends with arattu on Thiruvonam nakshatra day in Makram month.

The main deity in the temple is Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The sreekovil here is round in shape. The temple has a flag post covered in gold.

The festival is especially famous for kazhcha sreebali in which five or more caparisoned elephants take part. The day also witness panchari melam, nadaswaram, pandimelam, and panchavadyam.

On the final day there is the Arattu Sadhya, kodiyerakal and Arattu purappadu.

Earlier two unnibommas used to be brought in procession to the temple on the third day of the festival.

The upa devathas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Nagas and Brahmarakshas.
