Shivratri Festival at Mahadeva Shiva Temple at Tambdi Surla in Goa - Tambdi Surla Jatra on Shivratri
Tambdi Surla Jatra is annually observed on Shivratri day. It
is the annual fair and festival at Mahadeva Shiva Temple at Tambdi Surla in Goa.
The shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is around 65 km from Panaji and around 22
km from Valpoi. Tambdi Surla Temple Jatra 2026 date is February 15.
Mahadeva Shiva Temple at Tambdi Surla is located inside a
forest at the foot of the Anmod Ghat, which connects Goa to the state of
Karnataka.
The temple is noted for its intricate carvings and
architecture.
The utsava murti of Lord Shiva is taken out on the day.
Devotees throng the temple to witness the rituals, pujas, and festivities.
The temple is decorated with lamps, lights, flowers and
leaves for the occasion.
Bel leaves and fruit are offered to Shiva on the day.
A fair is also organized on the occasion.
