Lakkidi Charaparambil Pooyam Subramanya Temple is located at
Lakkidi and is around 8 km from Ottapalam in Kerala. The annual pooyam ritual
organized in the temple attracts hundreds of devotees. The shrine is dedicated
to Subramanya or Muruga. Lakkidi Cheruparambil Subramanya Temple Thaipooyam festival
2026 date is February 1.
Special pujas and rituals are held throughout the Thaipooyam
day in the temple.
Carrying Kavadi is the main ritual on the day. People carry
various types of Kavadi to the temple in procession. Traditional temple music
is part of the procession.
Melam, various types of colorful Kavadi and fireworks are
part of the festival.
