The Sri Krishna Temple attached to Ambala Central Jail is an
historic place. The temple attracts scores of devotees daily. However, many
might not be aware that the Hindu Mahasabha kept the body of Naduram Godse who
was hanged in the Ambala Central Jail here for five minutes. It was the last
wish of Godse that his body be taken to the Sri Krishna Mandir. The body was
then cremated at Rambhag in Ambala.
The temple is a small one. One wall of the shrine is
attached to the Ambala Central Jail.
During Sri Krishna Janmashtami, thousands of people visit the
shrine.
