Palani Panguni Uthiram 2026 – 10-day Panguni Uthiram Festival at Palani Murugan Temple

Panguni Uthiram is one of the most important festivals at the Palani Murugan Temple. It is a 10-day festival. Palani Panguni Uthiram 2026 date is April 1. The most important events during the period are the celestial wedding of Sri Murugan with Sri Valliyanaki Amman, Panguni Uthiram holy car procession and the firecracker festival.

Murugan devotees carry Kavadis – they also carry holy water from Cauvery River, sugar, and tender coconut.

Abhishekam with holy water is performed on all days to the main Murugan murti in the temple.

The festival begins with the flag hoisting at the Thiru Avinankudi Temple near Malai Adivaram (downhill) in Palani.

On all the 10 days Palani Murugan with Sri Valli and Sri Devayani goes in procession around the Palani Hill.
