Shri Gondavalekar Maharaj Punyatithi

Shree Gondavalekar was a popular and famous saint of 19th century in Maharashtra. His Punyatithi or death anniversary is annually observed in Margashirsh month. Shri Gondavalekar Maharaj Punyatithi 2025 date is December 14.

He was an ardent devotee of Lord Ram and preached that Anna Daanam is Mahadanam – giving food to the hungry people. He spread the glory of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman.

He did countless philanthropic activities at Gondavale, an area located on Satara-Pandharpur road.

Shri Gondavalekar Maharaj Punyatithi is annually observed on the Margashirsha Krishna Paksha Dasami or the tenth day during the waning phase of moon in Margashirsh month as per traditional Hindu Marathi lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.
