Dhapewada Temple is dedicated to Lord Vithoba and Rukmini and
is situated at Dhapewada Town near Nagpur in Maharashtra. The Vithal Rukmini Mandir is located on the
banks of Chandrabhaga
River. The black murtis of Lord Vithal and Rukmini are found in the sanctum sanctorum.
Dhapewada Town
is known as the Pandharpur of Vidarbha region. The most famous temple dedicated
to Lord Vithoba and Rukmini is located at
Pandharpur.
The ancient temple is noted for its wall paintings – it has
not been preserved properly. The walls and pillars are adorned with sculptures
of Sri Krishna. The temple was built by Umaji Aba, Diwan to Raja Bajirao Bhonsle.
There are separate shrines of Pundalik and Hanumanji in the
temple complex.
Dhapewada Town is located about 36 km from Nagpur.
