Which is the biggest and largest Hindu Temple in Karnataka?

Some of the biggest and largest Hindu Temples in India are found in the state of Karnataka. These include many popular Shiva temples. But which is the biggest and largest Hindu Temple in Karnataka? Any guess? An exercise to find the biggest temple has not been carried out.

But it is widely believed that Srikanteshwara Temple at Nanjangudu is the largest and biggest temple in Karnataka.

Nanjundeshwara Temple measures 385 feet by 160 feet, with a total area of 50,000 square feet. The Mahadvara (main entrance) is seven – storey high and is decorated with seven gold plated Kalasas that add a further three meters to its loftiness.

Note - The famous Murudeshwar Temple in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka possesses at 249-feet Rajagopura – which is believed to be the largest in the world.
