Route of Thiruvabharanam Procession from Pandalam to Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple – Temples Giving Reception to Thiruvabharanam Procession for Makaravilakku

Thiruvabharanam Procession from Pandalam in Kerala is held to the famous Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple for Makaravilakku puja. The route of the Thiruvabharanam procession begins from Pandalam Valiyakoickal Sree Dharma Sastha temple. The procession which carries gold ornaments to be worn on murti of Ayyappa is given reception at various Temples enroute to Sabarimala.

Pandalam Valiyakoickal Sree Dharma Sastha temple is around 120 km away from Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.

First Day of Procession
  • After leaving Pandalam Valiyakoickal Sree Dharma Sastha temple, the procession will reach Kulanada Devi temple through the road passing by Kaippuzha Srikrishna Swami temple.
  • The procession will then reach Ullannoor temple via the traditional path of Mudappana and Kallumparathu Junction. The three boxes carrying the jewelry will be kept open for darshan at Ullannoor temple.
  • The procession will then take the traditional route through Karikara Junction and  Parayankara Junction to reach Kurianappally temple.
The procession will then pass through

  • Kidangannur, 
  • Aranmula East Nada, 
  • Punnamthottam, 
  • Pampadimon and 
  • Cherukol to reach Ayroor Puthiyakavu temple. The procession halts here at night.
Second Day of Procession

The procession will be given reception at
  • Idappavoor,
  • Idappavoor-Peroor,
  • Vadasserikara,
  • Madamon temple and
  • Perunad Sree Dharma Sastha temple before halting at Laha Forest IB.
Third Day of Procession

The procession will be given reception at
  • Plappally,
  • Nilackal,
  • Attathode
  • Valiyanavattom
  • Saramkuthi
Deeparadhana will be held at 6.30 pm after adorning the gold ornaments on the murti of Ayyappa at Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.
