Kabbalamma Temple located at Kabbalu near Kanakapura in
Karnataka is dedicated to Goddess Kabbalamma, a popular village deity in South
India. She is a manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti. The temple is located
about 70 km from Bangalore.
Legend has it that Goddess Kabbalamma was in search of a
place to reside and she took refuge in the village Kabbalu. She then took the
permission of Basaveshwara and resided in the village. All the important first
pujas are first performed to Basaveswara and then to Goddess Kabbalamma.
The temple is open from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
