Vishnu Ghat – Haridwar

Vishnu Ghat, Haridwar is an important bathing spot at Haridwar on the banks of GangaRiver. Legend has it that God Vishnu mediated here. Another legend has Srihari Vishnu took holy dip at this Ghat. The bathing Ghat is around 500 meter from the famous Har Ki Pauri. It is also near the Ramghat.
Hundreds of people take holy dip at Vishnu Ghat. Bathing here is highly meritorious and is believed to help in attaining Moksha.
Vishnu Ghat is located in the heart of Haridwar city and there are numerous hotels nearby. The place is also famous for its unique markets.

Panchabootha Lingam - Shiva Worshipped as Five Elements

Panchabhootha Lingam is the combined name referring to the Shivlings in five ancient temples in India where Hindu God Shiva is represented in the form of five elements – earth, water, fire, air and ether (aksasha or sky or space). In these five temples, linga or lingam which symbolically represents Shiva is in the form of elements.

Elephanta Caves Video

ElephantaCaves located in Raigad District in Maharashtra is carved out of solid rock in 6th century AD. The caves are 11 km north-east of the Apollo Bandar, Mumbai. Archeological survey of India has created a short video explaining the importance of the caves and the sculptures. The important sculptures are Trimurti Sadashiva Shiva, Ardhanarisvara, Parvati, Andhakasuravada murti, cosmic dance of Nataraja, Kalyanasundara murti, Gangadhara murti, Ravana shaking Kailasa, Siva as Lakulisa and a panel depicting Saptamatrikas.
