Dhrishaketu, also known as Dhrishtaketu, was indeed the son of Shishupala, the king of Chedi. Shishupala was a cousin of Krishna but harbored intense enmity towards him, which ultimately led to his death at Krishna's hands during the Rajasuya Yajna of Yudhishthira. Despite this tragic event, Dhrishaketu did not hold a grudge against Krishna or the Pandavas. Instead, he chose to support the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war, aligning himself with the forces of righteousness (Dharma).
As the king of Chedi, Dhrishaketu played a significant role
in the Mahabharata, showing his loyalty to the Pandavas and his commitment to
the cause of justice. His decision to join the Pandavas' side despite his
father's death at the hands of Krishna highlights his ability to distinguish
personal vendettas from the greater good and his understanding of the larger
moral and ethical framework within which the Kurukshetra war was fought.
