Extra Jyeshta Month In Hindu Telugu Lunar Calendar In 2026 – Adhika Jyeshta Masa In Andhra Pradesh And Telangana

There is an Adhik Jyeshta Masa or Extra Jyeshta Month in traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2026. This extra month is a unique feature in Hindu lunar calendars which happens mostly once in 2.5 years. Adhik Jyeshta Mahina in traditional Telugu Calendar in 2026 is from May 17 to June 15. The extra month is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna and is also known as Purushottam Mas. The current year as per traditional Hindu Lunar calendar is Shalivahana Shaka 1948. The Nija or original Jyeshta Masa follows the Adhik Masa. This is from June 15 to July 14.

Please note that Adhik Jyeshta month 2026 in traditional Hindu calendar followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, North India and Karnataka is also from May 17 to June 15.

  • The Purnima begins at 11:58 AM on May 30 and ends at 2:15 PM on May 31.
  • Purnima Vrat is on May 31.

Adhika Jyeshtha Amavasya

  • Amavasya is on June 15, 2026
  • The Amavasi begins at 12:20 PM on June 14 and ends at 8:24 AM on June 15.

Chaturthi Vrat or Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi in Adhik Jyeshta Mahina 2026 is June 3, Moonrise or Chandrodaya Time is 9:39 PM.
