Kizhakke Kadirur Kurumba Bhagavathy temple is located at Kizhakke Kadirur near Pattiam in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Kurumba Bhagavathi and numerous other deities. The annual kaliyattam theyyam, thira festival is held for a couple of days.
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kizhakke
Kadirur Kurumba Bhagavathy temple are Gulikan theyyam, Karanavar theyyam,
Khandakarnan theyyam, Kutti Chathan theyyam, Porkkali Bhagavathi theyyam,
Sasthappan or Kuttichathan theyyam, Vettakkorumakan theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
The temple has a small chathura sreekovil for the main
deity. The roof of the small shrine is decorated with traditional temple motifs.
There are other smaller sreekovils. Some deities are offered worship under
trees and upon raised platforms. The shrine observes important rituals and
festivities including Sankranti in every month.
